Guest guest
My humble greetings to all respected group members. I just joined this group recently when my dear friend Sampath suggested me to do so. The FAQ said it would be good to send an introductory post, so here I am. My name is Sudheesh, 25 years old. I am a Hindu by birth and an adherent of Advaita philosophy by choice. I am particularly influenced by the teachings of Sri Ramakrishna and Swami Vivekananda. On a personal level, I seem to be unfortunately a reluctant seeker, often very engaged in the very world, which is designated as Maya. There are phases when I am inclined to feel intensely spiritually motivated and this is inevitably followed by a lull and long periods of spiritual lethargy. Although I am familiar with the basic tenets of Advaita philosophy, I have no deep knowledge of the core Advaitic texts. My understanding of sanskrit is rudimentary too. I hope this group will be a wonderful opportunity for me to further my spiritual progress. I am currently based in Sydney. I am doing my PhD in Sociology and my research is studying the role of religion among Indian (Hindu) migrants to Sydney. Thank you for having me here. God bless.
