Guest guest
My Dearest Fellow Advaitins : It gives me great pleasure to share with you that Shri Shri Ananda Wood's long awaited book ' Ways to Truth : A View of Hindu Tradition has now bben published and is available at : http://www.dkprintworld.com The book is very reasonably priced at $ 27.50 (Inclusive of air (SAL) postage) What is this book all about ? " How then can we understand the Hindu tradition as alive today with its ancient emphasis upon the spoken word and the living individual? That is the question which this book investigates. Accordingly, it asks for a broader understanding of history, which would allow for a rightful accounting of the Vedas and of other oral learning. Through its continued emphasis upon the living word, the Hindu tradition asks for a deeper understanding of reasoned enquiry. Such reasons do not work primarily through mechanical instruments in the restricted way that modern physics does. Instead, it works essentially through a reflective investigation of our living faculties, which are thus cultivated and clarified. The goal of truth is not here sought through an institutional consensus; but rather as a common ground, which is approached quite differently through different personalities and institutions of culture. " i would encourage all members here to take a look and may be even write a book review at amazon.com.The book is coveniently divided into many headings and sub headings and there is something for every jignasu in this book ! From the Purusharthas to the Schools of thought and everything in between , Anandaji has covered quite a lot of territory of Hindu Philosophy . Join me in congratulating Anandaji on his valiant effort and let us offer him full support and encouragement in spreading the timeless philsosophy of Vedanta worldwide! The art work on the cover is very appealing with the Shiva linga emblem ! TAMASO mAA JYOTIRGAMAYA! where ignorance ends , knowledge dawns ! Hari Aum Tat sat ! Guest guest
True ! Very true! It is also available on the internet ! Yes! Truth is all around you; but the real significance of owning a Book of this nature is 'Truth Travels ' with you whether you are on a plane or a train or even when you are lying down in bed after a hard day's work! Many of us book lovers love to read a book first hand instead of reading the contents of the book from an internet source. Authors spend many long hours writing a book , rewriting it and editing it and giving final touches to it . They never get compensated properly both for their time and efforts ; more so , Authors of vedantic books ! Book writing is an expensive hobby and for some people it is also a full time Vocation . The only compensation the author gets is the 'persona' satisfaction of penning his /her thoughts in an organized fashion! I once again urge all members to invest in this book and let us join together to offer all the support to one of the most learned Advaitins of all times , Shri Ananda wood , a worthy disciple of a worthy teacher , Shri Atmananda! Paiji , you wanted to always learn about the distinction between Jati and varna , here is your best chance ! Anandaji does not need my support ; but i need your support in promoting Truth - 'Ways to Truth' - buy it now ; read it and write your first review at amazon.com and the member to do so will be awarded a handsome gift of $51.00 ! This is my humble way of showing my appreciation for Anandaji's efforts in promoting a timeless philosophy! love and regards > > > The book is also available in the Files sections, since June 2007. >
