Sri Maunaji has raised some interesting questions .

i would direct him to the following link and request him to read the

following verses From Devi Kalotram -a text in Tamizh translated and

explained by Sri Ramana !

http://www.madhuramurali.org/swamigal/essay/devikalotram/ji_devikalot

ram15c.html

Here is one verse which i liked immensely !

'Desamunm sãdhi mudalãm ivattrrai cherndanuvum

mãsagal varnnãchirama manninavum - pesumip

bhãvanaigallai agatri pattrriye thannilaiyin

bhãvanaiye yenrum pazhagu bhaya - mevã' (48)

He says that without our knowledge we hold an attachment

('abhimãna') within us. That is, let us say that we have gone to

some foreign country. When we see an Indian there, instinctively we

feel happy. Why? This is because you possess the thought, 'I am an

Indian'. Therefore, you feel very happy as soon as you see him.

Suppose we are in some part of Northern India. We feel happy as soon

as we see a Tamilian. We feel all the more happy when we see a man

belonging to our caste. This is deepened further, if the man belongs

to our native town or village. Here, Ramana says that you should not

have even that 'pattru' (attachment) - 'desamum, sãdhi'.

'mãsu agal varnam

ãsirama manninavum' - I have studied the Vedas; he has also studied

the Vedas. This attachment is born due to discipline. Even this

should not be experienced

'pesum ip bhãvanaigallai agatri' - giving up all these bhãvãs

'than nilaiyin bhãvanaiye' - take hold of the Self that is the place

of origin of the ego

'pattri yenrum pazhagu' - ever practice this (that you are the True

Self)

All rise up only because of the rise of the ego 'i'. When you

identify yourself with the body you feel, 'I am a Brahmin; I am an

Indian; I am a Brahmachãri; I am a man; I am a woman, etc.' How will

such thoughts rise up if the identification with the body stops?

Such thoughts will not rise up at all. Hence, a Jnãni has no caste,

creed or nationality. He has no such thing. He has gone beyond all

those to the highest state. So, shirk even such attachments.

*********************************************************************

i would request all learned members to read the 4 part serial on

devi kalotram! mind blowing!

the reason i asked the question on karma and reincarnation was

precisely for this reason ! THERE IS NO KARMA AND REINCARNATION FOR

A JNANI ! SO WHERE IS THE QUESTION OF HIS BEING A HINDU ?

pl figure this all out and let me know ...

first , one has to be a human(e) before he/she can be anything else!

love and regards
