Dear Friends,

Please check the link below where a swami's brain changes are captured

in the PET scan(one of the latest technology that checks the brain

function in real time) while he was in meditative state-

Thanks,

Madhavi

Namaste.

For centuries numberless

Their words were the index

To tell us their exact worth.

Alas! Now they are placed like pets

In labs, fitted with gadgets,

For PETscan on mortal cells!

Oh Lord! Where is our sense?

PraNAms.

Hi there,

As meditation is above the mind, what is so instructive about

observing the mind in dharana?...........Hu

Namaste Hupa-ji.

dhAraNa, as I understand it, is a step, a practice, that helps one to

hold on to or concentrate on something. It is a sort of disciplining

with which the mind gets fitter to explore further.

In meditation, we observe the mind only to establish in ourselves by

recognizing the fact that we are not the mind, as falsely understood,

since we are able to observe it. " I AM - despite the thoughts " is the

message.
