Guest guest
Shree Vaibhav - praNAms. Here is my understanding. Recognizing that subtle body is eternal (jiiva is nothing but reflected consciousness in the subtle body), its movement is determined by karma (hence in B.G. 8th ch. Krishna defines karma is the cause for creation). Subtle body takes particular gross body to exhaust vaasanaas. It requires therefore suitable bodies where the karma can get exhausted. Stones and metals etc by themselves apparently do not have all the requisite elements conducive to exhaust the karma the jiivas have. There is a story of Ahalya in Ramayana who was turned into stone until Rama touches that stone. Essentially tamas has taken over completely her karma and it can be exhausted only in that form. Most of the cases we have mixture of three gunaas and jiiva has to take birth in bodies that are conducive. There was a star track episode where they go to a planet where the life is Si-based rather than C-based. Although both Si and C can form chains, the carbon organic compounds are much more versatile and decomposable to yield energy needed to sustain the life. Si-compounds more difficult and life in that form is very difficult. But the idea is unique - to have a life with Si-based. There you may find life in stones! Hari Om! Guest guest
Most of the cases we have mixture of three gunaas and jiiva has to take birth in bodies that are conducive I wonder, though, if that " taking birth in bodies that are conducive " may not necessarily mean reincarnation. I think that even a change in attitude, in this lifetime, is metaphoric reincarnation. I've seen this in the context of such things as a person winning millions in a lottery and how that literally can change the person. From one moment to the next a huge change takes place for the person. Of course, " bad " or " negative " things could have this same effect. This is another idea of the applicability of reincarnation. Such life-changes result in a metaphoric " death " and " rebirth " within a life time. A change in a person's role or status may also be reincarnation within this life time. I wonder, too, if even only awakening in the morning is also " rebirth " ? ______________________________\ ____ Never miss a thing. Guest guest
namaste " Thereis a story of Ahalya in Ramayana who was turned into stone until Rama touches that stone. " as far as I was told, that there is no valid paramAna for this story in vAlmiki rAmAyana... but in actual story written by vAlmiki, sage gauthama curses ahalya to be invisible to every ones eyes NOT to turn herself to stone...and to do tapas (penace) in yagna kunda to get herself purified...and will be visible soon after she sees rAma...can any one kindly translates the exact meanings of vAlmiki rAmAyana shlokas... and also another story which are falsely understood till today is bharatha, lakshmana and shatrugna are the incarnations of conch shell, shesha and sudarshana...but in vAlmiki rAmAyana it has not written like this...but as lord vishnu has divided his soul to take birth as bharatha, lakshmana and shatrugna...their power is half of power of rAma (vishnu)... these information i have learnt from a lecture on valmiki ramayana by prakash rao of pavagada sorry to deviate from the thread topic thanks Narendra On 12/9/07, kuntimaddi sadananda <kuntimaddisada wrote: > > > > > > > > <http://us.ard./SIG=12j53ce74/M=493064.11135488.11710474.8674578/D=grou\ ps/S=1705075991:NC/Y=/EXP=1197134041/A=4776366/R=0/SIG=11mj2s6kj/*http://ad\ vision.webevents./green/index.html> > > > . > > >
Guest guest
Hi Steve. Each moment (whatever that term means!) is a rebirth. Be not deluded that it is the previous one continuing although it obviously seems so. PraNAms.
