Guest guest Posted January 17, 2008 Report Share Posted January 17, 2008 Shri Gurubhyo Namah: I would like som ehelp with trying to establish a 'pramanic' basis for the story about the establishment of the two lingams at Rameshwaram. Legend has it that Rama asked Hanuman to bring a lingam from Kashi, but the latter arrived too late from this mission, so Rama established a lingam there himself, and later, when Hanuman arrived with the Kashi lingam, established that separately. Neither the Valmiki Ramayana nor the Adhyatma Ramayana mention this story. Can anyone help me with a scriptural reference for this story ? There is no reference to Hanuman here. Siva and Skanda Purana-s have been mentioned in other references for this episode.
