Hari OM!

There are all kinds of favorites- favorite books, movies, actors,

sportsmen, sportswomen etc., I request you to share your favorite

inspiring verse or saying, or words, any thing that touched you

greatly. Some may have many favorites- a library! Yet, pick one,

you would say to an youngster/child whose span of attention is not

much, but very absorbing and all ears even if for few minutes!

Why this? For the same reason people talk about favorites- fun and

benefiting those who haven't come across it! Also I plan to

compile them and possibly share interesting ones with local youth

and/or Balavihar kids. Part of experiment to teach and learn

differently!

Your response is valuable and might make a difference to some soul!

My pick is a saying of Swami Tejomayanandaji:

" What we need in life is right thinking and alert living. "

Thanks.

My favorite is from Gandhi " You must be the change you wish to see in the

world " . It has guided me through many times when I wanted to act differently

than that!

Dear Srinivasji:

The following is an excerpt from " Mahathma Gandhi: Essays &

Reflections on His Life and Work by Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan "

" We have killed his (Gandhi's) body, but the spirit in his life

which is a light from above will penetrate far into space and time

and inspire countless genarations for nobler living.

YaD-yaD viBhutimat satvam Srimad urjitam eva vA

tat-tad evAvagaccha tvam mama tejo amsasamBhavam.

Whatever being there is endowed with glory, grace and vigour, know

that to have sprung from a fragment of My splendour.

Bhagavat Gita - Chapter 10 verse 41. "

Namaste Srinivas-ji,

Your goal is inspiring and noble. May I respectfully suggest

that this topic be dealt with off-list, as it is not within the scope

of this list.

There are thousands of 'subhashita-s', Vidurainiti, Bhartrihari

Niti-shataka, Gita, Upanishads, etc., that would be just as inspiring

for the children .

Thank you.

Regards,

Sunder

Namaste Sunder-ji.

Thank you for writing and letting me know. I only wanted to solicit

input from those whom I esteem and part of SatSang. I apologize for

any inconvenience this might have caused.

Any one wishing to share their thoughts, please e-mail them

directly to me off-list at: srini_nagul @

Thanks again.

Hari OM!
