List Moderators' Note: Summary list guidelines suggest members to limit

themselves with 3 messages per day. Instead of just sending one-liners

additional explanations along with how your thoughts are related to Vedanta will

be helpful. This list mostly focuses on Shankara's advaita and the list does

welcome messages that are closely related such as the messages of Sri Ramana and

Nisargadatta Maharaji. We welcoem you to the list and look forward to your

participation.

Who here can relate this to Shankara, Ramana, Nisargadatta et al. -

it's a stretch, but any takers? ;-)

" Success "

You come home at the end of a long day at work, exhausted. You are not

one of these fools who are chasing success, you enjoy the journey and

are proud of the fact you're aware of it. It's so satisfying. Today

has been a good day, and you are exhilarated. You *almost* hit that

spot today, that feeling that everything is *right*. For a while, you

didn't feel so dull, ephemeral, not-quite-there. You almost felt

alive. Maybe tomorrow will be a better day, but not likely - this has

been the best in a long time.

Addiction counseling is so difficult precisely because drug addiction

is a microcosm of what we term 'life'. Believe me, you know EXACTLY

what it feels like. Peace.
