Once non-duality is understood as a fact - there is nothing else to do since doing involves duality. All doings are done naturally enlivened by your very presence as Krishna says maayaa adhyaksheNa prakRitiH sUyate sacarAcharam - under my president-ship the prakRiti does all actions including the creation of movables and immovable. The problem we find is that we understand nonduality as seemingly possible not factual. Until that understanding takes place as fact not as a concept, one has to keep reflecting on that fact until it becomes a fact. This is called NidhidhyAsana - internalizing the truth as your own. Enlightment is to recognize that I am already enlightened even when I think I am not. It is not something to think but something to be. There is beautiful sloka in AvadhUta Gita by DattAtreya pertinent to your question - aham dhyAtA param dheyam akhaDam khaDate katham? Meaning I am a mediator and this has to be meditated upon - why do you divide that which is indivisible? - questions DattAtreya. Once I have learned that sOham or I am He, then I need to realize it as fact not as a thought - for that I have to internalize that knowledge since even after knowing, the mind wants go back to its habitual thinking (which are due to vAsanas) that I am only a local guy and not global one that the identity says. The mind needs to be free from all previous notions - which is also called cleansing the mind from preconditioning or chitta suddhi. Study of the scriptures and keep the mind focused on the inquiry of the truth - teaching, writing, contemplating, etc all come under NidhidhyAsana where mind is constantly dwelling on that truth - it involves ultimately seeing you as the center of the universe. Nonduel, pranams, All will depend on what you meant by the word " understood " . - If by that you meant that it was quite a new concept that makes sense and you feel you can trust the one who told you that, then Sadhana will be, as it was pointed out, the reflection/investigation of that " concept " (until no more doubts about it) and then contemplation of that new understanding by the mind, until it dissolves the very core of the illusory Ego/Doer/Mind and Self shines of its own accord. - If by that you meant that the statement evaporated the illusion of having a mind and the experience of the Self (experience in this case means Experience without an experiencer, Reality) was revealed/recognized fully, then Sadhana will be to continue de-stabilizing the illusory mind until destroyed and the Natural State (Sahaja Samadhi) shines of its own accord, since it is the illusory mind with its illusory tendencies that continues creating the illusion that Self is " not reached " (a sort of hypnotic transe). As for myself, Bhagavan's Ramana Maharshi's " method " of Self-Inquiry proved to be the most efficient way to " do " that (to de-stabilize the egoic/doer/mind). Only a point of view, people are different, although we all share the fact of being objects of our Common Awareness. yours in All, Mouna
