But are they correct answers? How will you verfy them? Are the answers authentic? Who was present at the time of Brahma creating the world to say afterwards that Brahma created the world in this fashion? No doubt the Upanishads speak of the creation of the universe. But each Upanishad gives a different version of the order of creation.Any amount of discussion on the subjectof why and how of creation will be a purely speculative one. Hence Sri Shankara says " It is fruitless to know about creation. Even though there is variation in the order of the manifestation, all the scriptures agree that the Creator is Brahman Only. Hence Know Brahman and all the questions/doubts will be come to an end. " Then the next question that arises in the mind is " How can I know Brahman? " . Sri Shankara says " Brahman is your own true nature and the true nature of the whole manifestation. Hence know your true nature and you will know about the Creator as well as the Creation " . Sri Shankara has given in a systematic and simple manner, the methodology to be followed to cognize the truth about the above stated statement. Many of the learned members of this group will help you in completing the journey. THE ULTIMATE TRUTH according to Sri Gaudapada , paramaguru of Sri Shankara is " There is no dissolution, THERE IS NO ORIGINATION " . With warm and respectful regards, Sreenivasa Murthy. The real object of describing creation is explained in the article entitled `Creation. Best wishes. S.N.Sastri >
Guest guest
H.N.Sreenivasa Murthy Pranams to all. Dear Sri Akshay Chawala, and respected members In continuation of my posting 39885, Wherein I had stated " Hence Sri Shankara says 'It is fruitless to know about creation. Even though there is variation in the order of the manifestation, all the scriptures agree that the Creator is Brahman Only. Hence Know Brahman and all the questions/doubts will be come to an end. " and " Sri Shankara says " Brahman is your own true nature and the true nature of the whole manifestation. Hence know your true nature and you will know about the Creator as well as the Creation " , here is SrutipramANa for the above: Quote: " For him who sees this, reflects on this and understands this, the prana springs from the Self, hope springs from the Self, memory springs from the Self, the akasa springs from the Self, fire springs from the Self; water springs from the Self; appearance and disappearance spring from the Self, food springs from the Self, strength springs from the Self; understanding springs from the Self, meditation springs from the Self, consideration springs from the Self, will springs from the Self; mind springs from the Self speech springs from the Self, the name springs from the Self the sacred hymns spring from the Self the sacrifices spring from the Self—ay, all this springs from the Self. " [Chandogya ; 7-26-1] WHAT IS " THIS " ? Sruti says : " That infinite, indeed, is below. It is above. It is behind. It is before. It is to the south. It is to the north. The Infinite, indeed, is all this. " Next follows the instruction about the Infinite with reference to `I': I, indeed, am below. I am above. I am behind. I am before. I am to the south. I am to the north. I am, indeed, all this. 2 " Next follows the instruction about the Infinite with reference to the Self: The Self indeed, is below. It is above. It is behind. It is before. It is to the south. It is to the north. The Self, indeed, is all this. [Chandogya : 7-25-1 and 7-25-2] Then,What should be the direction in which the quest and discussions by a mumukshu/jij~jAsu ought to take place? I think that the above quoted mantra has very clearly shown the goal as well as the direction. With warm and respectful regards, Sreenivasa Murthy >
