Namaste dear all:

After six months of Gita Satsangh, let us take break and contemplate on

what we learnt for few months. I do plan to resume the Satsangh from

Krisna Janmastami day - the most auspicious day for starting Chapter 12

(Bhakti Yoga). You may be wondering what will be doing during the Spring

months - from March to August? The good news is that Sri Ananadaji (the

Chief Moderator of advaitin list) will be posting a series of articles

on two important topics as described below:

1. Translation and commentary of some philosophical excerpts from

Bhartrihari's Vakyapadiya. This would aim at showing how Advaitic truth

was taken to be the source of all traditional learning and thus the

entire tradition, with all its various disciplines. It would also try to

show show how delicately and flexibly the scriptures were meant to be

interpreted in the context of changing time and circumstance.

2. Advaita and modern sciences. This would relate specifically to how

Advaita might be interpreted in our modern educational context.

These are serious topics and Anandaji will be rigorously pursuing these

topics starting from this month. Participate with him in his discussions

and please be make sure to enhance the discussions instead of distract

his focus.

I look forward to read his postings and learn about the important works

of Bhartrihari's Vakyapadiya.

With my warmest regards,

Ram Chandran
