I did not, at dawn, take my refreshing bath, and I did not collect at least a pot of Ganges water and approach You, O Lord, to give You a bath (abhishekam). Nor did I ever collect bilva leaves from the forest for your worship. Alas! I did not, even once, make a garland of fresh lotus blossoms collected from the rippling lotus-tank. Neither had I the devotion to collect any fragrant flowers to offer You. What a sinner am I! Forgive my sins, O Lord, the All-Merciful One. Forgive me. Forgive me. Other than Your all-forgiving grace, I have no other shelter now.
