Guest guest
Namaskarams, Swami Sridharananda of Vedanta Society (Sri Ramakrishna Matha), Sydney, is known as a good speaker. A few youtube videos of his Gita and Patanjali Yoga sutras lectures are up; I looked at the first three Gita ones which give a brief synopsis of the first five chp before entering the sixth. It also gives a good idea of spiritual life, goal, etc. thollmelukaalkizhu
Guest guest
Thanks for giving this to us. He is indeed a good and inspirational speaker. So far I've just heard the first 2 and will get right back to it. One minor criticism is on 2, where he quotes Christ as saying " I am that I am " as being in the Bible. I'm open to correction and I don't think Christ said this. That phrase was said by God to Moses, written in the Old Testament. Anyway, disregarding his ignorance of the Bible, he seems to know much of the Gita and gives a great summary of it and focuses on what is important, imo and as far as I've seen. advaitin , " putranm " <putranm wrote: > > Namaskarams, > > Swami Sridharananda of Vedanta Society (Sri Ramakrishna Matha), Sydney, > is known as a good speaker. Or he could have credited God with saying, " I am that I am " when Moses asked His name. I know there are writers in this learned group. Is it okay to misquote or wrongly quote someone in order to make a point, or would research be more appropriate, especially when a holy book is involved? As the Swami rightly said, doubts stifle enthusiasm (paraphrased). When I hear or read one error, I question the accuracy of the rest of the message. However I did say in my first post, it was a minor criticism. I also said I very much liked Swami Sridharanandaji's treatment of the subject and found it inspiring (still true after now hearing all 6 parts). All the best, Richard
