Of what use are, and what permanent joy can be provided by, many vehicles, a lot of money, many horses and elephants? Even if an entire kingdom were made available to me to administer and rule over, what of it? Neither on my death-bed nor in my life hereafter can these possessions be of any permanent value or of any enduring use. Neither my wife, children, friends, and wealth, nor my palatial, marbled extravaganza of a house can help me in escaping from the sorrows of my mind, which is becoming hopelessly exhausted though its own agitations and restlessness. Recognising this fact of life, slowly withdrawing my mind from its endless quests for happiness in the world outside, I must train my mind to turn its entire attention to realize the Higher in me. With a mind that has `thrown far away' all its disturbing passions for sense objects, I must approach a teacher who is constantly dwelling in the Higher State and must follow sincerely and faithfully the path indicated by him. I must seek again! Again must I seek that state from which both matter (Prakrti) and energy (Purusha) emerge out to create for me this tantalizing world of ever-changing illusions. Let me seek and discover the Lord Matter, the Lord of Parvati. To be continued.. Pranams Vanaja Ravi Nair
