Namaste, Kalyan-ji,

The Chinmaya Mission Publication of this stotra does not contain the

four shlokas mentioned by you. I am giving below shloka 8 with

meaning. I shall post the remaining shlokas one by one.

dhyAtva citte shivAkhyam pracurataradhanam naiva dattam dvijebhyo

havyam te lakshasamkhyairhutavahavadane nArpitam bIjamantraiH |

no taptam gAngatIre vratajapaniyamaH rudrajApyairna vedaiH

kshantavyo me'parAdhaH shiva shiva shiva bho shrI mahAdeva shambho

||8

(In devanAgari there is no short `e' or `o', as in the south Indian

languages, but there is only long `e' and long `o'. The small

letters e and o are therefore sufficient to denote these sounds and

it is not necessary to use the capital letters. For example vedAnta

need not be written as vEdAnta. So I am using only the small letters

e and o to represent long e and long o).

citte- In the mind, shivAkhyam- Thy auspicious name, shiva,

dhyAtva- meditating on, dvijebhyaH- to brAhmaNas, pracurataradhanam-

very abundant wealth, naiva dattam- I have not gifted.

pracura- abundant, pracuratara- very abundant, dhanam-wealth.

te- to Thee, lakshasamkhyaiH- in millions, havyam- oblations,

hutavahavadane- into the mouth of the sacrificial fire, bIjamantraiH-

with the chanting of the seed mantras, na arpitam- I have not

poured.

(hutavaha- one who carries the oblations to the respective gods,

i.e., god agni. vadanam-mouth)

hutavahavadane- into the sacrificial fire.

gAngatIre- on the banks of the river Ganga, vratajapaniyamaH-

observing vows and doing japa, rudrajApyaiH- with the rudra sUkta

mantras, no taptam- I have not done penance, na vedaiH- nor have I

chanted the vedas.

(In the Sanskrit Documents the word gAngatIre has been typed as

gAngAtIre. This is wrong. Both gAngatIre and gangAtIre are correct,

but not gAngAtIre).

shiva shiva shiva bhoH- O Lord shiva, shri mahAdeva shambho- O

shambho, mahAdeva, me aparAdhaH- my transgressions, kshantavyah-

deign to forgive.

8. O Lord shambho, mahAdeva, I have not made abundant gifts to

brAhmaNas, nor meditated on Thy auspicious name. I have not poured

oblations into the sacrificial fire along with chanting of mantras.

I have not observed vows or done japa or penance on the banks of the

sacred Ganga. I have not chanted the Rudra sUktam or the vedas. I

pray to you to forgive me for all these transgressions.

(To be contd)
