Technical issues: Happy Note from the List: Attachments will be Permitted

Dear Members:

Advaitin List since from the beginning permitted only Text messages without attachments to keep out distribution of 'computer viruses' through the attached files. We have been told by that mailing system FILTERs the attached files for viruses before distributing to the members. Given this assurance, we should make use of enhancing message contents and its appearances. Now you can type and send messages with Richtext/Html formats which will be preserved when they appear on the list. This will also enable members to post Sanskrit verses in addition to transliteration which will enhance our understanding and learning.

Please note that the archive will not keep the attachments and those who want those files should opt to receive "individual mails." If you are using the groupsite to read the messages, you will not be able to see the attachments. We suggest that you provide the entire content of the attachment using the formating facility (Richtext format) while sending your messages.

Let us try this new facility on a temporary basis for a month or two. If we don't see any problems, we will continue with the new facility.
