Guest guest
Dear all, pranams with the great help of Swami Paramarthanandas CDs I am in the course of studying mandukya upanishad and karikas. I would very much like to have the sankrit text (in roman letters), possibly with word for word translation. I have searched the web and found one version of the upanishad alone. So I am still missing the karikas. Can anyone tell me where I can get them or possibly post them to me? Another question: In the first chapter Swamiji explains the two levels of each pada, the microlevel of the gross vishva and the macrolevel of the gross, which he calls something that sounds like virod. The translations that I find in dictionaries to the word virod don't seem to fit. As Swamiji is speaking with a (lovely) accent, I might have misheard. Can anyone tell me, how the word is spelt? Om shanti! Sitara

Guest guest
There is an excellent volume printed by Advaita Ashrama. "The Mandukya Upanisad with Gaudapada's Karika and Sankara's Commentary" Translated by Swami Nikhilananda - however, it has translation in English and Sanskrit text, but not Roman letters or word for word translation - still, all in all I very much like this version.I think I got got mine from the Ramakrishna-Vivekananda Center in New York.advaitin From: smitali17Date: Sun, 15 Jun 2008 15:28:26 +0000 sanskrit mandukya karikas Dear all, pranams with the great help of Swami Paramarthanandas CDs I am in the course of studying mandukya upanishad and karikas.
