Guest guest
Dear Group Members, Good morning to all. In the Vedantic texts like " Vedanta Sara " of Sadananda Yogindra, the treatise is through Adhyaropa and Apavada method. During adhyaropa, the creation of this world is explained. But, what is the exact position of the man in this creation. How or in which state a man is existing as the manifestation of the gross elements? Please explain in detail. With love, Sri. Guest guest
Shree Sri - praNAms Not sure if I understand your question correctly - but here is the position of man in the creation starting from Brahman. 1. From Brahman the first five elements come one leading to the next starting from subtlest, space to grossest, earth. These are in subtle forms. They are the contributing factors for the subtle body. 2. Then they combine - what is known as pancikaraNam - and the combination leads to grossification. This gross matter forms the material for the creation of 14 lokas and the gross bodies of all jiivas in the 14 lokas. The subtle elements enter the gross to form jiivas since Brahman essentially expresses more vividly in the subtle elements that start as buddhi - next mind etc. 3. The gross and the subtle mater combinations in each being (including human) is determined by the vaasana (prarabda) that are ready to germinate and express to experience or exhaust their karma. 4. The position of man is - the consciousness expressing in the subtle elements (as though it is reflected in the subtle body) and through the subtle body to the gross body - is the man. Not knowing that he is actually Brahman (conscious entity) but expressing here through subtle and gross bodies, identifies with it as 'I am this' - the notion of jiiva begins using the bodies to exhaust the karmas that are brought in. In the process of living, he acquires new ones which are called aagaami and unexhausted ones are deposited back to total account, which forms the cause for the next life. Hence birth-death cycle continues until he realizes that he is not subtle or gross bodies but only an enlivening agent - that negation of 'I am not this' is apavaada. Taking that I am this is adhyaaropa and negating that I am not this is apavaada. If that is understood as a fact, then I realize my true nature that I am Brahman that never takes any birth at any time. With that understanding the man goes or gone beyond the adhyaaropa - apavaada too. This is the position of man, as I understand. Hari Om!
