Guest guest
Ignorance is called in advaita philosophy(AP) as ajnana. Ajnana has a limited existence in AP, though anaadi. At the dawn of knowledge it will be destroyed. Therefore Vedanta Sara (VS) says that it has yatkinchid Bhavaruupam. But, what is ajnana? It is the power of Brahman. Therefore, the locus of Anajam is Brahman only. As long as the existence of Brahman is implied, it's power also must be granted. AP holds that Brahman is the only Sat vastu, which exists at all the times and beyond time too. It being so, its power also must exist. Then, how can we say that " At the dawn of knowledge it will be destroyed. " ? Destruction of Ajanam means that the Ajnanam goes to the potential state. This is what I understand. Any comments please? With regards,Anupam.
Guest guest
Anupam-ji. Interesting question. I was off for a while and seem to have missed a lot. I won't take it as " Ignorance is destroyed " . It is apter to understand the statement as " Ignorance will be known to have not existed at all. The language fails here. It is more like " there is only KNOWLEDGE, KNOWLEDGE AND ONLY KNOWLEDGE which is not other than the one knowing it and the knowing of it " . Regards. Dear Sri Rajendran, The above statement of yours is simply wonderful. It is like AN UPNISHAT MANTRA. That is what the seeker/mumukShu has to realize and to this purpose only a seeker has to dedicate himself. Sruti's clarion call is only this. Thank you for this amRuta (nectar). With warm and respectful regards, Sreenivasa Murthy.
Guest guest
Dear Sri Nair ji, > " there is > only KNOWLEDGE, KNOWLEDGE AND ONLY KNOWLEDGE which is not other than > the one knowing it and the knowing of it " . Thanks for the explanation. As you said, the triputi bheda will not remain after attaining Knowledge. ( " after attaining Knowledge " is not right. Because of the limitation of words, I used it here so.) Thanks and regards, Anupam.
