Dear members,

Suppose I want to use some of the words / passages from scriptures in

Sanskrit, what font should I use, so that it will be visible to the

group members? In my last posting the Sanskrit text has been garbled.

I noticed this in the archives too. (Thanks goes to Madathil Nair ji,

who brought this to my notice.)

This would be of general interest to others too.

Thanks and regards,

Anupam.

I would suggest you simply use ITRANS notation instead of Devanagari.

Dear Anupam-ji

I am using an apple macintosh computer as well as a laptop with windows

XP. With the laptop I can read the Sanskrit fonts without any problem,

whereas in the Mac I get nothing but nice squiggles. The difference is

that sanskrit fonts are simply not installed in the Mac because it is

already older.

I guess its possible to install sanskrit also on older computers, but

especially with older systems you might also make a mess if you change

anything. So why not use Roman letters which everybody has got?

Om shanti

Dear Sri Ramesh ji and Sitara ji,

Namaste. What you have suggested is right. I shall use

transliteration in the future. This would help others also follow and

curtail the unnecessary deviations from the subject matter. (vishaya

is one of the saadhana sampath)

with regards,

Anupam.
