Guest guest
Dear All, One of my friends told me that the cardinal doctrine of Advaita philosophy is " Prapancha exists because the seer exists " . I am the seer. If I am not there, will not the world be? How can this be justified? Is there any pramana for this statement? With regards, Anupam. Is there any pramana for this statement? praNAms Shri Anupam-ji, I think the first couple of verses from Drg-Drsya-Viveka may help in answering your query. Fortunately, it is completely available online at the following link: http://www.archive.org/details/drgdrsyaviveka030903mbp Further, I am not sure if the question " when I am not there " will be accepted. That is because in the advaitic enquiry, the moment you say: " I am not there " , the acharya would say " who is one who is saying that " ? In essence, the world is nothing but a name and form superimposed on the all pervasive consciousness. Further, in Swami Dayananda's 3 lectures available on youtube " You are the awareness and You support the world " are worthwhile watching and (I think) are pertinent to the topic. I shall go through the book. > Further, I am not sure if the question " when I am not there " > will be accepted. Thanks again to bring home that the seer is always there and that he does not cease to exist. > " You are the awareness and You support the world " are worthwhile > watching and (I think) are pertinent to the topic.
