dhiira- meaning

Dear Shri Anupam,

In one of your mails you had asked about the meaning of the word 'dhiira'. As a Sanskrit scholar you certainly know the following shloka in Kumarasambhavam of Kalidasa:

vikArahetau sati vikriyante |

yeshAm na cetAmsi ta eva dhiirAH ||

 

I had quoted this and given the meaning in my post # 40830.

This meaning is very appropriate wherever this word appears in the Gita or the upanishads.
