Guest guest
Namaste, Sri Nairji and others, From whatever very little exposure I have through the Teaching of my Gurus, and satsangha etc, I may say Avidya is not absence or Abhava of Knowledge, i.e. jnAnabhAva. It is erroneous knowledge or partial knowledge. It is this erroneous knowledge that causes Adhyasa, as when one sees the Rope, knowledge is there of something, but not the Rope knowledge. This erroneous knowledge leads to projection of a snake etc. There is no absence of knowledge of Self or Atma, but erroneous knowledge or partial knowledge. If there is Abhava of Gnana, there is no problem. Samsara is the result of partial knowledge/erroneous knowledge of one¢s self. The word IGNORANCE creates the confusion. Avidya is not Ignorance. Avidya is erroneous knowledge or partial knowledge. Warm regards and hari om Mani R. S. Mani
