Guest guest
Shiva ***** Lord, how do you meditate with noisy Ganga overhead? While a mere thought movement can cause tremors in me! Lord, how do you dance wearing many snakes ? While I run away at mere sight of one of them? Lord, how do you swallow bitter poison and offer nectar? While I find hard to swallow even a bitter word! Lord, how do you give boons while being a mendicant? While I ask for more no matter how much I get! Lord, is there any thing impossible for you? While all enlivening Shakti(Energy) itself is your consort! Lord, Thou being all auspiciousness itself While bestowing Thy grace don't count my limitations! ---------------------- Hara OM! -Srinivas
Guest guest
Beautiful Srinivas - I am reminded of bhajan in telugu that I used to hear. The essence: Oh lord I wanted to do abhishekam (since there is another post related to this) - with pure water. But when I went to pick up some ganges water, the fish and frog sitting their complained that I cannot use that water since it has already been used and impure (in telugu - yengili) since they spit it out that water after drinking some - therefore cannot be used for abhishekam. When I went to pick up some milk from a holy cow for abhishekam, the calf next to it says that I cannot use it for abhishekam since it is also impure - yengili -calf already put her mouth there and instigated the milk. And I want to decorate the Lord with flowers, and the bees sitting there said I cannot use it since they have made it impure by sucking honey from the flowers. - In telugu it sound much beter to sing than my writing - but could not resist. Guest guest
I went to the pond For a pale of water To wash the idol of My Lord. The frog and fish shouted " Eh ye, the water isn't pure, For we made it impure By our hungry lips and excrement " . I went to the cow, Pleaded for a potful of milk. She shook her head in vehemence " My udder is tainted By this greedy little one Who is always at it " . I went to the flowers, They said they have been descretated By the vagabond bees. Warned me " Don't take us For we are impure by unholy contact " . I had nothing there around To bathe my sacred idol with. I therefore prayed and spat on it, For there couldn't be a purer one than me. Thus I was named " NArAyanattu Bharanthan " of yore, The mad man of Kerala, Who rolled up heavy stones Uphill till evening, To roll them back down again, And laugh at the stupidity of man Like that Sysyphus of the Greek. ___ advaitin , kuntimaddi sadananda <kuntimaddisada wrote: > > Oh lord I wanted to do abhishekam (since there is another post related to this) - with pure water. .......
