Guest guest
Dear Members, Namaste. I read somewhere how one cognizes the object. It is said that: " The mind goes out through the sense-organs and covers (as it were) the object to be perceived. This raises a wave of the object in the ocean of mind. Sakshi-chaitanya is always reflected in the mind and the contents of the mind (i.e., the waves of the mind) are revealed thus. So, the wave of the object is revealed. " I request the learned members to comment upon it and validate it with scriptural references. With regards, Anupam.
Guest guest
Dear Anupam, Where have you been for the past 3 months? J Sri Sadananda has been slowly but surely elucidating this topic (perception) based on the classic book on the subject – vedAnta paribhAshA – for the whole of the year. I have been editing these and putting them up a small section at a time since March 2008. You may either search the archives for the complete series (currently up to Part 29, under the heading ‘Knowledge and the Means of Knowledge’) or you can read everything up to about Part 13 at my website, beginning at http://www.advaita.org.uk/discourses/knowledge/intro1.htm.
