Guest guest
Idealistkumar - PraNAms There is story in yogavaashiShTa. Rama after listening to the advaita teaching that everything is mithyaa wanted to test VashiShTa, his guru. When he was coming to the palace, he sends a wild elephant to chase VashiShTa muni. Obviously VashiShTa ran away to avoid getting hurt. Rama then questioned why he ran away since elephant is only mithyaa. VashiShTa answered that even his running away is mithyaa too. The point is mithyaa does not mean unreal. It is real within its sphere of operation. It is not non-existent as vandhyaa putra - son of a barren woman. It is not absolutely real either, since what is absolutely real is that which never undergoes any change. Hence Shankara says -All that you see (or experience) is mithyaa - dRisyatvaat - what you see is mithyaa since there is seer-seen distinction which keep changing. That does not mean they are non-existent since non-existent things cannot be experienced. Kidnapping and terrorizing is not new - it occurred in Krishna's time and Rama's time. Only the actors are different and mode of operation is different. Stand apart and look at the space-ship earth rotating around itself and around the sun at incredible speed - it will continue its course irrespective of what drama happens on the ground. It has been doing that since centuries and will continue to be so for many more centuries. Generations have come and generations have gone. Civilizations have come and gone. yugas have come and gone. From the point of absolute all is drama that occurs. Incredible drama. At local level, selfishness broods to give raise these kinds of terrorist activities. That does not mean you have to stand apart as just bystanders. Rama did not keep quite nor Krishna - Every Hindu God is fully equipped to deal with the situation - it is called positive goodness - not inert goodness like door-mat. Lord has given us the capacity to fight back and to establish dharma - a universal dharma that involves sarve janaaH sukhino bhavantu - sarve santu niraamayaaH - sarve bhadhraani pasyantu - maa kaschit duhkha bhaag bhavet| Let every body happy, everybody be healthy, let everybody see auspiciousness, let none suffer. That is the vision of the great sages. Let us invoke their blessings in these devastating moments to give us the strength and intelligence to fight back to establish that universal dharma. Hari Om!
