Guest guest
Namaste dear fellow advaitins: This is to inform you that our dear ProfVK will be undergoing a bypass surgery on 18th December. While sitting in front of the computer, he experienced heart-pain and went for a heart check-up. His Doctor advised an ECG which turned out to be normal. His son, Ravi, who was visiting him just for a day, happened to be present on that day. Ravi suggested to the Doctor that we should have a better baseline for future comparison. So a regular angiogram was done on 28th November. It revealed three blockages on the three main arteries of the heart. So a by-pass surgery was suggested and will be performed on December 18. The surgery will be done by an eminent doctor, Dr. Jawali of Wockardt's Hospital, Bangalore. We are all very fortunate that Profvk has got the diagnostics of the health problem ontime and he will get the remedial treatment from one of the best hospitals in India Since ProfVK is loved and admired by many members of this list, I am sending this message so that we can all pray for his speedy and full recovery from the surgery. The following prayer to Lord Shiva is quite appropriate and let us all silently pray for his health and longevity. Om Trayambagam yajaamaheSugandim pushti vardhanamUrvaarukamiva bandanaathMruthyor muksheeyamaam mrutat(Lord Shiva the three-eyed is the promoter of our longevity. By dispensing nectar, He dispels all ill health. Out of his profound grace, He removes all diseases and bad health and provides longivity, good health and peace.) The above manthra (as many of you already know) is Maha-mrityunjaya mantra. This mantra is from the Rig-Veda (7th Book or Mandala, 59 Chapter). Anybody can recite this mantra and attain good health, release from bondage and other problems. This is the greatest panacea for all evils and can be recited at any time like any other Maha-mantra. We can never forget his tireless service to this list and to universal community through messages full of wisdom. Let us all pray three-times the above mantra everyday until he fully recovers. ProfVK is a very disciplined person and a strong believer on the presence of divinity in his heart. The divine within him and our prayers will provide him the necessary strength to undertake the surgery on 18th December. Let me convey our love and regards to ProfVK through this message, Ram Chandran Note: Please do not post any messages in the list and if you want to send an email, you can directly send to him at profvk.
