I am none, but here is my understanding: I think the emphasis is on appearance, rather on the entities themselves. There is exists no snake. A rope appears as a Snake. The snake is an appearance. In a similar way, due to some unknown reason, water appears on the sand. In this context, please read Prof. VK's beautiful First secret of Gita which deals with Verses 9.4-9.5 of Gita.
