You seem to have zeroed in on an important problem.

Yes, brahma jnaani is in vyavahaara while Brahman is in paaramaarthika. I do not

become brahma jnaani (unless I am trying to become a scholar), I realize that I

am Brahman. Yes, from Brahman point there is no dvaita - ekam eva advitiiyam -

that is from paaramaarthika.

Ignorance as well as knowledge are both in vyavahaara only -mithyaa only.

Knowledge also disappears along with ignorance - kRitvaa jnanam swayam nasyet,

jalam kaTakarenuvat - in Atmabodha - as kaTakanut powder used to clean the dirty

in water - while soaking with dirt, the nut powder also sinks to the bottom

leaving pure water with its intrinsic purity. Shankara gives a beautiful example

in Atmabodha.

You remind us that it is important to understand the quotes and the reference

from which these quotes apply. Otherwise scriptural study becomes more confusing

than clarifying. I urge everyone to present what they clearly understand and

then quote in support rather than load the mails with some quotations that would

not apply properly to the context. The purpose of the discussions is to provide

a clear understanding that paves the way for clear knowledge.

Yes Shankara says - world is mithya because it is seen - dRsyatvaat - in

Mandukya kaarika bhaashya. He does feel it is necessary to explain any more

since Brahman, sat cannot be seen and asat like son of a barren woman cannot be

seen - but world is seen hence it is mithyaa - for both jnaani and ajnaani.

Jnaani knows it is mithyaa and ajnaani takes it as satyam or real. That makes

lot of difference in transactions. I will not be afraid of a ghost if I know

that is only a post but appearing as ghost.

Hari Om!
