Guest guest
PraNams to all We have seen the discussion that in some places Shankara bhaashya as quoted by Sastriji says that prarabda is there after jnanam and in some places prarabda is not there. Let us ask more fundamental question - what is prarabda and who has it? The total vaasanaas are called sanchita. Of those, the cause for a particular birth or jnaani or ajnaani is those vaasanaas that are ready to fructify in that particular birth - is it not? The individual with M & I is taking birth in particular gross body B, that is conducive to exhaust those vaasanaas ready to fructify. Hence male, female, animal or man, in India or America or UK or going from India to America and some in other direction - most of it is determined by prarabda karma. Karma belongs to karmi or the one who has the notion of doership. The BMI undergoes the predetermined life based on the prarabda and drops off when the B is no more conducive for the next set of vaasanaas that are ready to fructify. This is the theory of karma. Until BMI drops praarabda karma effects follow since they are already set like an arrow that was shot. What jnaanam involves - When one realizes, he realizes that he was NEVER a doer - in the past, in the present or in the future. akartaaham abhoktaaham, aham eva avyayaH | I am never are doer nor enjoyer, I am all - in exhaustible self alone that I am. - This is jnaanam. In the recent post I have discussed where does this jnaanam arise? I am that knowledge arises in the pool of intellect as the reflected consciousness. Without intellect there is no realization because aatma need not have to realize and anaatma cannot realize. Please study the analysis in that post. For jnaani there is no kartRitva bhaava or bhokRitva bhaava - hence he has realized that he does not have any karma - neither sancita, praarabda or aagaami - since he was never doer. Then who is the doer in the past, in the present and in the future. Krishna says in the 13thCh we are discussing that prakRiti EVA kriyamaanaani sarvasaH - ALL ACTIONS are done by prakRiti alone - the one who sees this clearly realizes that he is akartaa even though karma is going on as per schedule. From Krishna statement it follows that: No one has praarabda karma, not only jnaani but ajnaani too. No one has sanchita karma or aagaami karma too since no one has done anything in the past, present or future. So who has prarabda karma - NO ONE. Then what is difference between jnaani and ajnaani. One knows this while other thinks he is kartaa and bhokta. Actions will be done by prakRiti all the time. Jnaani knows - through the reflecting consciousness - since that is how the knowledge takes place - that I am pure consciousness the one without a second while ajnaani takes himself as BMI and takes the unnecessary responsibility of doer-ship and enjoyer-ship.
