However he is still examing the molecular structure of water when all we need do is climb out of the swimming pool.. He backs up the Vedantic/Puranic view of creation and composition...but it is still all within materiality 11 super string dimensions or not.......Cheers Tony. Guest guest
Pranams to all..to the best of my knowledge,Hawking never accepts the theory of God..He even describes how 'unbelievable the universe is" and explains the breaking of a Glass Tumbler which when looked at from outer space "it wd be the joining of all the glass pieces to become a whole Tumbler"..Calculating the Big Bang ..he stops with the point of Big Bang but fails to answer the basic Advaithic question:"what was there..that One thing he himself accepts at Big Bang?""No answer"..I wd rec Carl Sagan's books..particularly "Cosmos" where in he has described "The universe is beyond human comprehension and accepts that Hinduism is the only REligion which has described the Universe closest to the TRuth.."another latest book which describes the universe from Advaithic angle is:"The Fabric of the universe" by Graham Greene ..a young Harvard(now Colombia?)prof..who has described in various places the Oneness of the UNiverse..Kindly dont mistake me for any errors as I have read these books a few yrs back..with regds to alls.Rajah Iyerhttp://www.acupressuresocks.com http://www.srajahiyer.sulekha.com/--- On Sat, 4/4/09, Shailendra Bhatnagar <bhatnagar_shailendra wrote:Shailendra Bhatnagar <bhatnagar_shailendra Stephen Hawking booksadvaitin Date: Saturday, April 4, 2009, 2:33 AM Namaste, Has anybody read one or more of these books by the great physicist Stephen Hawking. Guest guest
Namaste. Eckhart Tolle refers to Stephen Hawking in his " A New Earth " and sort of considers him to be one establised in the " NOW " . That is a great commendation. There is a lot of information in the web about this very successful scientist who accomplished a lot despite suffering from a fearsome diability - Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). He couldn't have done that without immense spiritual inspiration and understanding. Tolle's remarks, therefore, can't be off the mark. Hawking's life is exemplary to all those who are in despair.
