Guest guest
Dear Friends in the Sangha: It is easy to quote Sri Ramana to support one’s own point of view. The reason for that is that Bhagavan over a period of 50 years said a lot of things to a lot of people which sometimes seem contradictory. Bhagavan Sri Ramana was not a traditional advaitin. His essential focus was on whoever was before him and what to say to them to bring them towards Self-Realization. A mother loves her children but does not act in the same way with each child. She instinctive does what is best knowing their individual strengths and weaknesses. Just a like a mother knows what her different children need, Sri Ramana sensed what different devotees needed to hear that was best for them. Those who are intimate with Bhagavan know this and therefore are not the least bit influence by inconsistency in Bhagavan’s words. However, those who know Bhagavan at a superficial level only, their attention is drawn to the trivial and not to the substance of the teaching. The central theme of what Sri Ramana says never changes. A true devotee is one who practices the essential teachings of Bhagavan. If one has doubt in what Bhagavan says, one can go to another path which is more suitable. Namaste and love to all Yours in Bhagavan Harsha
