Guest guest
Nirguna does not mean non-existent. It means without attributes. The term is applicable only to the Self. It is a pointing for the aspirant. Within the confines of language, only duality can be discussed. The concept of non-existent depends on the concept of existence for meaning, etc. So we should not get too uptight or tangled up with what words mean. The obsession with finding the correct words to describe the indescribable may not always be the right approach for everyone. is-enlightenment-personal Namaste and love to all Harsha advaitin [advaitin ] On Behalf Of Richard Saturday, May 02, 2009 11:47 PM advaitin Re: Nirvikalpa Samadhi and Self-Knowledge > Nir Guna means exactly that 'non existent'..it is not some finer form of Saguna ......Cheers Tony. I thought it meant without gunas or attributes. If nirguna and saguna are not forms of the same, the one and only, then duality reigns.
