Guest guest
My humble salutations to Vyasamaharshi on this Jayanti day and my Vyasajayanti Subhakankshalu and greetings to our Advaitins.this festival falls on 8th May this year 2009. " NAMOSTUTE VYASAVISALABUDDHE PHULLARAVINDAYATAPATRANETRA YENATVAYA BHARATATAILAPURNAH PRAJVALITO GNANAMAYAHPRADEEPAH " " Salutations to Veda Vyasa, the intelligent sage whose eyes resemble the full bloomed lotus, by whom the lamp of knowledge was lit with oil in the form of Mahabharatam. Bhagavan Veda Vyasa, the great maharshi was an incarnation of Lord Narayana. He showed his grace on the world by classifying the Vedas, writing the 18 puranas, the Mahabharata, and compiling the Vedanta sastras. Maharshi Vyas is considered by all Hindus as a chiranjivi, one who is still living and roaming throughout the world for the well being of his devotees. Vyasa is beyond Pravrutti and Nivrutti. Let us pray for His blessings on us all and on the whole world. Let us celebrate this great festival,in addition to other rituals, by listening to Vedavyasa Astottarasatanamavali. http://www.archive.org/search.php?query=dr.anjaneyulu%20goli%20AND%20collection%\ 3Aopensource_audio
Guest guest
Dear shri anjaneyulu garu, Namaste. What is the difference between Vyasa Pournami and Guru Pournami because traditionally we celebrate the Guru Pournami to be the vyasa jayanti and also the chaturmasya starts from that day which happens to be in Ashada month. Kindly clarify. regs, sriram advaitin , " golianjaneyulu " <golianjaneyulu wrote: > > My humble salutations to Vyasamaharshi on this Jayanti day and my Vyasajayanti Subhakankshalu and greetings to our Advaitins.this festival falls on 8th May this year 2009. > > " NAMOSTUTE VYASAVISALABUDDHE PHULLARAVINDAYATAPATRANETRA > YENATVAYA BHARATATAILAPURNAH PRAJVALITO GNANAMAYAHPRADEEPAH " > > " Salutations to Veda Vyasa, the intelligent sage whose eyes resemble the full bloomed lotus, by whom the lamp of knowledge was lit with oil in the form of Mahabharatam. > > Bhagavan Veda Vyasa, the great maharshi was an incarnation of Lord Narayana. Guest guest
shri g... ji : isn't sage vyasa a avataram of Lord Dakshinamurthy?maybe my doctrination is like that,as a avatar of Lord Shiva. but vishnu sahasranama clearly portarys as Lord Visnu though.. " Vyasaya vishnu roopaya vyasroopaya vishanavé Namovai brahmanidhayé vasishtaya namonamaha " .Om Namo Vyaasaya Bhagavathe! suresh
Guest guest
Dear suresh, Strictly speaking, one should not address the sUtra-kAra as Vyasa. He should be addressed as BhagavAn bAdarAyaNa. Vyasa was a portfolio or rather his *functional* aspect. Now, coming to incarnation, bAdarAyaNa was an avatara of Bhagavan Vishnu and not of Dakshinamurthy (if we take into consideration Dakshinamurthy to be a saguna brahman ie., mAya-sabala brahman). with regards, sriram advaitin , " sureshbalaraman " <sureshbalaraman wrote: > > shri g... ji : > > isn't sage vyasa a avataram of Lord Dakshinamurthy?maybe my doctrination is like that,as a avatar of Lord Shiva. > > but vishnu sahasranama clearly portarys as Lord Visnu though..
