Guest guest
 Namaste, Sri Sadanandaji, Sri Bhaskarji and Sri Sureshji, Thank you for your Notes on Enlightenment. I wanted to know about it, because my understanding was: One is said to be “enlightened†when he gets clarification or explanation, i.e. Knowledge of what he has been seeking in life. Or, “enlightenment†involves that Knowledge which puts an end to what he has been seeking i.e. removal of ignorance about what he has been seeking. The problem is, one does not even know that he is limited or he wants freedom etc., but he has been pursuing all activities towards “obtaining†happiness. He also wants to be immortal, as no one wants to die, as one is ignorant about what death involves, and the resultant fear causes severe sorrow. In short, all pursue happiness, but somehow whatever happiness takes place seems to be temporary and not only that more often than not, such happiness turns to be unhappiness or pain later on. So, there is an internal urge in everyone to know or follow that path which will take him to what he has been seeking and even get rid of such pursuits which do not produce what exactly he has been seeking. When this urge becomes very intense, like for the “ten†who became very sad and distressed as one of them appeared missing, by Lord’s grace, someone appears or he is drawn to someone, who is capable of showing him the right path of pursuit to attain what he has been seeking. Or, maybe in very rare cases, again with His Grace only, the right path may be revealed to him. This pursuit is towards “enlightenment†i.e. for “attaining†what he has been seeking all through. When he follows the pursuit for attaining what he has been looking for, the first thing he is told is that he has been searching for the sought in wrong places. Actually, one has been seeking “Knowledge†of that which will put an end to his further seeking of what he has been seeking all through. I may be totally wrong, and that is why I approached our Group for Enlightenment about what Enlightenment is. Hari om and With warm regards, R.S.Mani       R. S. Guest guest
There is an old Hindi movie, " Kashmir Ki Kali " . There is a love song in that movie which has the following lines. Khud ko Kho ke tujko paya - roughly translated it means " by losing myself, you were gained " . So the poet is hinting at the complete identity of the lover and the beloved in the highest form of love (parabhakti) which is the same as Jnana. Kya meri taqdir hai (roughly translated it means, " how strange and amazing is my destiny or fate " . I have tried to capture the essential spirit of the idea of identity between the seeker and the sought in a simple way in the following poems, especially at the end. true-love-divine-love the-magic-pull " What voice can speak now and say I loved and lost myself in you and then saw that You were Me. Silence stole us from ourselves for all Eternity. " Namaste and love to all Yours in Bhagavan Harsha advaitin [advaitin ] On Behalf Of R.S.MANI Thursday, May 14, 2009 9:45 PM group Knowledge & Enlightenment
