Guest guest
Mother Ganga is not just a river but a mother, a goddess, a tradition, a culture and much more. She desended to the earth through Sivajatajutam - lock of hair of Lord Sivamahadeva to make the whole earth pious. We believe that life is incomplete without a holy bath in Ganga at least once in a lifetime. 'Gangagangeti yobruvan yojananaamsatairapi' - just by calling 'Ganga Ganga' from thousands of kilometers ,one is purified. In our day to day rituals we invite ganga for performing rituals in our homes. Some of the Hindu festivals and rituals are related to Ganga. A small pot of gangajal is almost a must in every house. The very thought, chant and listening to Mother Ganga purifies mind and body. I request you to listen to Ganga Sahasranamastotram and Gangastakam during this auspicious Jeshtamonth in which the Bhagiradhi Jayanti is celebrated. http://www.archive.org/search.php?query=dr.%20goli%20AND%20collection%3Aopensour\ ce_audio & page=
