PraNAms to all

Shankara says in aatmabodha:

sat sanghatve nissangatvam

nissanghatve nirmohatvam|

nirmohatve nischala tatvam

nischala tatve jiivan muktaH||

The association with knowledgeable persons will help in developing detachment

from the ephemeral.

The detachment will help to overcome the delusion of the mind.

Overcoming the delusion will help for the expansion of the mind (mano viShalata)

and concentration (mano ekaagrata) two results associated with chitta suddhi or

purification of the mind.

That contemplative mind is suitable for liberation while living.

In scientific fields - fellow-ships form the highest means of gaining knowledge

- postdoctoral fellowships are normal where one gets associated with more

knowledgeable scientists in the field, after completing Ph.D in that field.

Knowledge takes place by tuning the mind; and minds of the like help in this

fine-tuning.

Just received an interesting post from Swami Iswaranandaji of Chinmaya Mission:

E-SATSANG WITH SWAMI ISHWARANANDA

Regarding the Theory of Knowledge, Guruji Swami Tejomayanandaji observed: ‘The

foremost and most efficient method of gaining knowledge is in the company of a

man of knowledge. Learning music from a musician is the best among all means, so

also with other fields of knowledge. The second best method of knowing a thing

is by meditation or contemplation. Soon, the object of meditation will reveal it

self. The third method is , knowing ‘about’ a thing through books and other

means .

When I was in Australia one boy asked whether I can read others’ minds ! My

answer was No. However, I told him that if one wants to know what is in another

person’ s mind, the best method is to love that person. Soon, he will tell you

what is in his mind!’

‘We can understand almost anything, but we can't understand how we

understand’ – Albert Einstein

===============================Humor

When her son came back with a black eye from the school, his mother asked:

‘So, someone gave you this black eye?’

Boy: ‘No one gave it free. I have to fight for it!’
