Guest guest
Namostute Vyasa Visalabuddhe Phullaravindayatapatranetra / Yenatvaya Bharatatailapurnaha Prajvalito Jnanamahyapradeepaha // Salutations to Veda Vyasa, the intellegent sage whose eyes resemble the full bloomed lotus,by whom the lamp of knowledge was lit with oil in the form of Mahabharata. This year July 7th is the day of observance of Vyasa Puja. It is performed by the sages and saints as a mark of respect and gratitude to Veda Vyasa, and to celebrate guru parampara, both of which have made our life meaningful with true knowledge. Vyasa Puja day is referred to as Guru Purnima. Vyasa Puja also marks the beginning of the Chaturmasya Vrata for sages and saints. They stay in one place and devote their time fully in praying god for the peace and prosperity of the world. Bhagavan Veda Vyasa, the great maharshi was an incarnation of Lord Narayana. He showered his grace on the world by classifying the Vedas, writing the eithteen Puranas, the Mahabharata, and compiling the Vedanta Sutras. From the imperishable nature of his work Veda Vyasa is called sasvata, the immortal. He is also called Krishna Dvaipayana. He is worthy of worship by every one. This Gurupurnima is celebrated as Universal Teachers Day. Our Salutations to the lotus feet of Bhagavan Veda Vyasa and we celebrate the festival with worship and listening to Veda Vyasa Astottarasata Namavali which blesses us with wisdom and liberation. I request you to listen to Vedavyasa Astottarasatanamavali. http://www.archive.org/search.php?query=dr.anjaneyulu%20goli%20AND%20collection%\ 3Aopensource_audio
