Guest guest
Dear Friends, More than a year back a great scholar and correspondent Sri.P P.Ramachandran , a member of the on Pattars , brought to our notice the need for translating a book called " Samkshepa Dharma Sathram " published by the order of the late Paramacharya of Kanchi and published by Heritage educational trust, Mylapore ,Madras in Tamil. I volunteered to do the job. It took me more than three months to get the book from Madras. This book deals with the rules to be followed by a Brahmin in different aspects of his life. It is a summary of the great book Vaidyanatha Deekshitheyam. It has seven chapters viz 1.The duties of different Varnas 2.The day to day duties of a Brahmin 3. The rules of taint caused by death and birth 4. The rules governing after death ceremonies 5.The rules of redemptive rituals to wash sins 6. A summary of the important rules. The original book clearly mentioned that there was to be no copy right restrictions because this knowledge has to reach all Brahmins. Being a small cog in the wheel of time, I am very happy that I was given a chance to contribute a little towards this aim. The full translation is available in http://stotraratna.awardspace.com/sruthi.html Under day to day duties of Brahmins. Since some people who have disabled Java Script found it difficult to access this site, I have also uploaded it in my blog http://stotrarathna.blogspot.com/ With best wishes Ramachander
