Guest guest
Dasara Subhakankshalu to our Advaitin Group. Vijaya Dashami also known as Dasara, Dasa-Hara,Navaratri, Durgotsava ... is one of the very important and fascinating festivals of India. It is a celebration of victory of good over evil and is celebrated throughout the country at the same time, with varying rituals, but with great enthusiasm and energy signifying National Integration and celebration of life. A very interesting and significant ritual in these celebrations is 'Bommala Koluvu " with a great recognition of craftmanship. The Bommala Koluvu of Gollu, the display of dolls during the festival days of Dasara is said to represent the assembly that was held before Goddess Durga before the slaying of Mahishasura , the buffalo-headed demon. Through bommala koluvu, children are introduced to the lessons of personality development, the ultimate of which is 'Kaivalyam'. They are given the lessons of life through dolls. By answering the questions of children about the dolls , a good continuation of tradition and seeds of excellent living are planted in their enthusiastic fresh minds. It is the responsibility of elders in the family to keep the young generations informed of traditions for a happy personal life and for a welfare society. I request you to listen Bommala Koluvu with your grand children and family on this happy Dasara. http://www.archive.org/search.php?query=dr.anjaneyulu%20goli%20AND%20collection%\ 3Aopensource_audio
