Guest guest
praNAms Sri Sadananda prabhuji Hare Krishna You have raised a very good point with regard to pancha kOsha-s. Yes, as we know that Ananda Atma is beyond the 5 sheaths and these pancha kosha-s are avidyAtmaka & a hindrance in establishing ourselves in THAT...So, in the spirit of renunciation why dont we commit suicide & say this is also a type of renunciation (dEhAtmabhAva tyAga) to attain that Atma?? This itself shows renunciation is NOT 'strictly' & invariably physically running away from the bandha..It is more of a mental status with to the extent shAstra vidhi. Bhaskarji - PraNAms. pancakosha vichaara involves negating both at micro level and macro level - vyashTi and samashTi level - Naturally the negation involves the reality ascribed to it by recognizing their anaatma aspect. Let us understand clearly - physical renunciation is helpful as part of shama and dama for nidhidhyaasanam. There is no doubt about it. If it is possible one should take up that path if such path is possible. But to say that only physically renounced sanyaasin will realize is ageist the very basis of the aatma vicaara. I am not doubting Shyamji's quotations but these have to be understood based on the context and society. Who is a grihasta and who is sanyaasi also has to be understood - just as Krishna is called anaadi brahmachaarine namaH. One who is attached to his possessions is gruhastha and a sanyaasi is one who is free from this attachments. Mental renunciation is the must before one can take up the physical renunciation. By taking physical renunciation, others do not bother you much. One can live like a sanyaasi even while involved in day to day actions and still mind without much of attachments. I am reminded of the sloka yogaratova bhogaratova sangaratova sanghavihiinaH yasya brahmanai ramate chittam nandati nandati nandatyeva|| Obviously it is the mind dwelling on Brahman and reveling on it is the requirement and Brahman being infinite, where do I have to go as parivraajaka to find Brahman? If one can take saunas by all means do so. Otherwise whatever is given recognize that it is His Prasad and dwell in Him all the time. Nothing more to it. Hari Om!
