Guest guest
Namaste All, Followers of the series which is been given by Sada-ji who are at the same time reading the same material in V.P. will be puzzled by the shortness of the treatment there. Why? It's simple - you either get it or you dont. Likeness is the basis of comparison and of course we use it all the time. But, and here's the conundrum, how is the notion of likeness itself, likeness per se, to be learned. We cannot achieve it _through_ perception although we do use it _in_ perception. This is the reason that D.A. offers for its being a distinct means of knowledge. Shankara in B.S.B. I.iii.28 lays out the allied problem of genus and species and what he designates as _eternal words_. In Western Philosophy it is known as the problem of universals. Best Wishes, Michael. SANKARA Acharya said that group of symbols is a word and expression of these words is creation. However, mature logical ideology may be still it is partial and different from the real. Negation of all psychological impressions is to be wise. thank you sekhar
