Namaste:

Gita Jayanthi, also referred as Bhagavad Geetha Jayanthi, is the day when the

Bhagvad Gita was supposed to have been rendered by Lord Krishna to Arjuna in the

Kurukshetra on the first day of the famous 18-day battle in the Mahabharata.

Gita Jayanthi falls on the Ekadashi day of Shukla Paksha (the bright half) of

the Margashirsha month (it falls during November-December) according to Hindu

calendar. In 2009, the date of Gita Jayanti falls on November 28.

Most of the temples and other organizations celebrate Gita Jayanthi during next

week by reading and chanting Gita Verses.

Let us focus more of our discussions on Bhagavad Gita during next week and get

the blessing of Lord Krishna.

Let us thank Lord Krishna for Bhagavad Gita during the Thanksgiving week with

discussions focusing on Gita.

Happy thanks giving and Happy Gita Jayanthi
