That which can independently produce the result OR that among a group of factors without which the result cannot be achieved is called sAkShAt-sAdhanam or sAkShAt-kAraNam or eka-kAraNam/sAdhanam. That which alongwith others can produce the result OR that which independently or alongwith others prepare the ground is called sahakAri-sAdhanam or sahakAri-kAraNam. Sun is the eka-kAraNa for daylight while it is mukhya/sAkShAt-kAraNa w.r.to rain/agriculture. Any one among medicine/exercise/diet (auShadha/seva/pathya) can be called as sahakAri-kAraNa in removing disease and enabling body to be back to health. When we praise Ghee is life (ghrtirhi vai AyuH) ghee is sahakAri-sAdhana. In Shri Guru Smriti, Br. Pranipata Chaitanya
