Namaste Moderators,

I again received a mail from the publisher of the " Complete Works of

Adi Shankara " asking if there are any buyers for the volume of books.

I had sent a mail to the list couple of months back too for publishing

in the bulletin board and did not seem to see it. Could you please

send this mail to the list directly, as I think more people will know

it?

Namaste and thanks again

Ramakrishna

Namaste Advaitins,

This is a mail advertising the collection " The Complete Works of

Shankaracharya " published by the revered Samata Books.

I have bought a complete set myself sometime back. They are completely

worth the price. They are hardbound and print in good size readable

font.

If you think you will stick with Advaita for life (!), then there can

be no better books than the ones that contain the original

shankara-bhagavadpAda's words. Even if you cannot read Sanskrit now,

you could buy them if you think you will read the books in some future

date as the publisher is currently going through financial

difficulties. One of the volumes is the stotras by Shankara and it

worth gifting to others on its own as a gift.

Here are a couple of tips:

(i) When I was studying in a University in USA and got to know of rare

Vedanta books, I used to place orders for them also through my

Library, using a facility called " Inter Library Loan " or " Library

Recommendation " . They bought some books for me and in the process, the

University system got benefit (by buying those books) and the

Indian-publisher also did so (because the libraries buy the costlier

hard-bound edition). It would be good if someone in USA, and

studying/working in Universities could make such bulk orders.

(ii) You could also recommend it to your local Hindu Temple or Vedanta

Centre to buy a copy for the library.

Needless to say, I have absolutely no financial interest in this matter!

praNAmaH to all advaitins

bhava shankara deshika me sharaNaM!

Namaste,

2010/2/19 Venkata Sriram <sriram_sapthasathi:

Prapancha-sara-tantra has been published as Vol#4 of this series.

But for the particular question whether individual volumes are sold

separately, the publisher Shri Krishna has responded as follows: " We

are not selling the SET in volumes separately. Only VOLUME 1(STOTRAS)

we sell individually. "

Hope it helps

Namaste again,

Ramakrishna
