Guest guest
Dear Anupam-ji, Might we ask you to explain how you managed to incorporate Devanagari into your message? I believe this is the first time I have ever seen it an email message. It appears to be in ‘Mangal’ font, which I wasn’t even aware that I had installed on my PC. Did you produce it using a utility such as Itranslator? Presumably you didn’t type it in from your keyboard. I am most intrigued! Note that I would not want to encourage routine use of such a procedure – we have justified complaints from members when we use ITRANS, because it limits understanding unless one has knowledge of some Sanskrit terms. But if we start using correct script, we are restricting understanding still further to those who can read it. But there are obviously situations where it would be very useful. Guest guest
Dear Sri Dennis ji, Namaste. I used baraha fonts. One need not install the same to read the text. But, to type on that, one has to download and install baraha font from http://www.baraha.com/download.htm After installing the same, open barahadirect from the installed program. You may use F11 to toggle between English and other Indian languages, including Devanagari. You can easily, comfortably and directly type in any application, including gmail / / wordpad / notepad / excel etc. I am sorry to use the Devanagari slokas in my earlier mail as I had no other option. Therefore, I have given the translation of the same too. With regards, Anupam. > Might we ask you to explain how you managed to incorporate Devanagari into your message? Guest guest
Dear Anupam-ji, Thanks for the information. It certainly sounds interesting. However, having just downloaded the file, I find it is trapped by Norton Antivirus, flagging up the presence of medium to high risk virus 'Reser.Reputation.1'. I have emailed the contact given at the site to let them know and will write again when I hear more.
