Sita Jayanthi Subhakankshalu and greetings to our group. This navami of Phalguna

month (8th March 2010) ' we are celebrating the Sita Jayanthi festival. This day

is also significant as International Women's day celebrated throughout the

world.

 

Sita in Ramayana is embodiment of women's empowerment and she is an ideal

daughter and an ideal wife. Maharshi Valmiki named this greatest epic " Kavyam

Ramayanam krutsnam Sitayaahcharitam mahat " as Sita's history.

 

Sita,in the Ashoka garden tried to teach the essence of Vedas to Ravana. She

threatened 'bhasma bhasmarha tejasa' , I shall make you ash.Such is the valor of

Sita.

 

Reading Ramayanam, praying Rama and listening to Sitaramakalyanam are the

rituals of be performed by us.

 

I request you to listen to Sita Kalyanam episode from Ramayana.
