Saying that the world is a dream may be okay when it is said to oneself as part of sadhana, but proclaiming it to the world may not be okay because it belies the words one speaks when one is still being compelled by the reality of the world to speak to it. =-= For three years I read everything I could addictively to get at the core of this Advaita. The majority of it made no sense because it was Dualistic (subject and objects) and Advaita is not-two. There was a core of information however that never changed from saint to saint from Guru to Guru. Ramana said it the best with: " take life to be a dream and be done with it. " For all those of us on a crusade another saint (I think it was Nisargadatta) said: think of life being inside a dream in which we are trying to save everyone in this dream before we are willing to wake up. THIS literally says everything that has to be said about ADVAITA, SILENCE, REALITY we call also call LOVE, Samadhi, Nirvana, Bliss. =-= " but proclaiming it to the world may not be okay " – =-= But I am not only the world but the universe. Krishna said it to Arjuna and I am both Krishna and Arjuna. That is Advaita. If I=YOU am not the same Consciousness that is also Arjuna and Krishna then I=YOU have to throw Advaita out the window. It is as simple as Silence itself. Life is like a movie that is already made. We, the mind and their body, are just going through the motions. Thus there is no Doer. If there is no doer in this mortal-dream we call life, then there can be no Doers in other lives. Thus reincarnation is just a thought, and a collection of thoughts is a dream. Reincarnation is like a dream inside of a dream. Reincarnation is no different from watching different TV channels. (e.g. I remember another life, or was it on TV or a dream)This is Advaita. To complicate Advaita, Silence, with more and more thoughts and scriptures is to try and explain Stillness with bigger and bigger disturbance, waves. If there is no-doer than there is no choice or freedom. I have no choice to write this to myself because that is the way this movie called life was made, written. Without a doer there is no choice or freedom to think or do anything. Ramana says this the best. If the seeker thinks he has a choice to use thoughts to seek Silence the only choice worth thinking about is: 1 – I can use thoughts and then more thoughts to build bigger and bigger walls I need to understand Silence. 2 – I can use thoughts to negate, kill, eliminate the thoughts, truths, dreams, realities, that my mind has built up for/around Silence. Only if we use thoughts to find the holes in the realities thoughts give us can we hope to understand that thoughts (that include physic's neutrons) are dreams. Only when thoughts become dreams can we hope to understand the background without which there can be no thoughts. The background is Consciousness, Reality, Silence. The biggest hole in the reality we call mortal-life is time. There is no time because a thought is the same as a memory. Physics also screams at us, from all is directions, that there is no time. I write this to myself, YOU=I=THAT, with a hope that sooner or later all these thoughts will have to self destruct each other to leave me to be the Silence that I really am. Namaste, Yes it is a problem on sites, for there are all kind of levels of development and no matter the title of the site, people identify at their own level. If we were truly advaitns we wouldn't be here writing, we are 'Aspiring', but even that isn't true for it is all in a dream, that can only be experienced whilst we believe it is true. Once we don't believe we and the dream disappear IMO.....ONS..Tony.

Once we don't believe we and the dream disappear > IMO.....ONS..Tony. = Some Yogis can leave their body and not return I am told. So far that has not been an option for me. I just keep breaking these walls down that my mind has built out of its real-thoughts to turn this mortal-life into the dream it is. And it is a dream with a Joy that is far far beyond my wildest dreams. But this joy has only come since I take, accept, life to be a dream. If other minds can get strength from my dreams then it is just a part of my dream called Maya in which I am them. There are no answers to why we have to do things that we cannot be doing. The joke is that what we write, and think, has absolutely nothing to do what the reader will create out of it for his dream. Thus we have words that one calls a lie and another calls the same words a truth. As you say there are all sorts of levels. I must have read Papaji's " The Truth Is " and " Nothing Happened " five or six times. The first time I understood little to nothing – but every now and then a sentence would make me cry with joy. I kept going back, I think, for this joy. Each time I re-read the book I could not believe that I had basically never read it before. " I AM THAT " was the same. And many others. I kept reading addictively until the addiction was gone. When the addiction was gone reading could only disturb the Joy, Silence. Now my body-mind has to write addictively to myself for the same Maya that made me read addictively. If I could leave this body to end this Maya of futile doings … well it would only work if I did not try. Namaste Semmi
