Very simply Sankara said the world is real whilst one is in it. So if we posit a certain validity to the creation, we have to interact so. Our view should be that it is all a projection or appearance of the 'Self'. Another point is that due to prarabda karma everything is predetermined to the action takes place anyway. For action and reaction take place at the same time. Our attitude seems to be the only variable.........Even that may be karmic.
