[Quoting Ramana Maharshi again:] " The Self alone remains as it ever

is. The three states( waking, dream sleep and deep sleep), owe their

existence to non-inquiry, and inquiry puts an end to them. However

much one may explain the fact, it will not be clear until one attains

Self-Realization and wonders how one was blind to the Self- evident

and the only Existence for so long. " They neither come nor go.

 

This is the hightest teaching all else is really practise for

concentration. Devotion and meditation usually require an object or

form to meditate on, so raising one stream of thought only. Bhakti is

losing one's ego and becoming One... " They neither come nor go " , there

is nothing to meditate on or be devoted to, there is nothing ever
